With a 80m shark tunnel, over 11,000 fish, and daily activities, this aquarium is the perfect spot for a day of fun with kids. Located in Port Vell, a beautiful harbor, this is the perfect place to spend a day and afternoon with your little ones.
#2. Parc d’Atraccions at Tibidabo
This amusement park is a must-see for everyone, including the adults. With 25 rides, street shows, and theatre, this park will entertain everyone. Enjoy the Mina D’Or water ride, or the Muntanya Russa with panoramic views of the city, then go on the Sky Walk around the Collserola mountain to get the best picture of all of Barcelona.
#3. Montjuïc
Another great spot for both adults and kids. No one will ever tell you they weren’t mesmerized by the hill of Montjuïc. Even the way up is fun, your kids can enjoy a ride on cable car or funicular.
Once there, you can explore the old fortress, play games with your kids, and then go up to the very top to see a breathtaking view of the city.
#4. Parc Güell
An architectural and natural masterpiece, this is another essential stop. This park was built by architect Antoni Gaudi as a residential complex. Today, though, the park is open to the public and is one of the best places to have a nice afternoon outside.
With its colorful staircases and benches, this is the perfect playground for your kids. You can all enjoy a picnic outside, or an ice cream under the sun, it is also a great spot for a quick hide and seek game.
#5. Biking
If your kids are old enough, Barcelona is the an amazing city to bike around. There are many places where you can rent bikes for the day or more.
When you rent a bike, you will also get a helmet, a lock, and a map of the city. Try biking near La Barceloneta beach, or Parc de la Ciutadella, where the streets are calmer. You can also bike through the Rambla de Mar, an amazing bridge over the water that your kids will love.

Does the beach sound like fun? It surely is! Pack your sunscreen, make some yummy daytime drinks, and your kids won’t want to go back to the hotel.
This beach is family friendly and lots of fun. Walk around to a nice restaurant for lunch, and get there by bike to make it even more fun.
#7. Fundacio Miró
Though museums are hard to sell to kids, this one is certainly a different case. With its various shapes and colors, Miró will capture your kids’ attentions and make them more interested in art. Walk around the museum and ask them to create the stories of each painting or sculpture.
#8. Magic Fountain of Montjuïc
Every night at a specific time this fountain in Plaça Espanya will light up for a magical show that your kids will fall in love with. Make sure to head over after dinner for the perfect end to your night.
#9. Chocolate and Churros
At the word chocolate I’m sure your kids have already been sold on the idea. This steamy and gooey hot chocolate is a classic in Barcelona, add in the deliciousness of churros–a deep fried pastry that you won’t want to miss while in the city.
#10. Port Aventura
Another amusement park that your kids can enjoy while in Barcelona. This is the second largest amusement park in Europe, which is split into different sections for all ages. Located in Salou, Tarragona, you can take a train from Sants station and spend a day here.
#11. Costa Caribe
Situated immediately next to Port Aventura, make it a 2-day affair by spending another day at this water park. It is full of rides the entire family can enjoy, plus you can get a discount if you buy tickets for both parks.
#12. Parc de la Ciutadella
Whether you come for a walk, or you want to visit the zoo, this park is full of history and fun for your kids. They will surely love the waterfall by the entrance, or the boats you can rent at the lake.
The park was built for the Universal Exhibition, but it is still a wonder your kids will want to discover.
#13. Camp Nou
It is never too early to get your kids started on football (soccer), and what better way than taking them to the wonderful Futbol Club Barcelona stadium? Take the guided tour to find out about the all-stars who have played here and get a feel of the wonderful atmosphere when it’s time for a game, especially the “clasico” Real Madrid vs Barcelona.
#14. Palau de la Musica
You can go for a tour around this majestic theatre, or you can actually enjoy a show with the family. Have your kids stare at the ceiling and see how mesmerized they’ll be. If you want to make it more fun, go to a flamenco show for the full Spanish experience.
#15. Poble Espanyol
Want to see all of Spain right from Barcelona? Head over to Poble Espanyol with the family and watch the different crafts and arts from all over Spain. You can enjoy all sorts of foods, buy art, learn about local customs, and you can do it all from this car-free space.
